LLS FINE ARTS

Jr. Lancer Band lessons have begun at our Lakeshore Lutheran Schools.  JLB has a long and proud tradition of working with the LLS to provide band lessons and a group band experience for your students in grades 5-8.

In addition to lessons, the Jr. Lancer Band Program offers Beginner Band, Concert Winds, and Jazz Kidz.  It is of great benefit to the band students to play along side other instrumental students and learn what its like to play in a band and enjoy making music with one another.  Saturday rehearsal schedule is Beginner Band 8:30-9:15am and Concert Winds 9:30-10:45am.  Jazz Kidz is held in the 2nd semester only.

The Jr. Lancer Youth Choir (JLYC) exists to minister to and bless the families and community of the Lakeshore Lutheran Schools by offering our students in grades 4-8 an additional opportunity to praise our Lord and Savior, to grow in musicianship, to develop healthy vocal habits, and to nurture Christian friendships.  JLYC will meet during the 1st semester, and rehearsals will take place on Saturdays from 8:30-9:15.  We will be asking you to distribute information to your 4th – 8th students and their parents to inform, invite, and encourage your 4th-8th grade students to join the Jr. Lancer Youth Choir.

Information and music for the Lakeshore Lutheran Children’s Choral Festival will be coming very soon.  Our guest clinician this year is Mrs. Lisa Uttech from Wisconsin Lutheran High School.  Many of you may remember Lisa from her time here on the Lakeshore as teacher at Bethany – Manitowoc and as staff minister at Grace – Manitowoc.  We ask that each school has their music teacher or fine arts contact fill out the questionnaire that will be coming in the next few weeks.  Thanks!  The Choral Festival is scheduled for Friday, February 16th at MLHS from 1:00-6:00pm (Concert at 6:30pm in the MLHS Gym)

Hunter Safety Class

St. John’s in Two Rivers is offering a hunter education course. The suggested age level for participants in the class is grade 5 and higher. The dates for the class are Sunday, Oct 22 from 12:00-3:00. Monday, Oct 23 from 6:00-9:00. Tuesday, Oct 24 from 6:00-9:00.  Sunday, Oct 29 from 12:00-3:00. If you or your child would like to attend the class, you will need to provide Ryan Jaeger with the DNR customer ID number. If you or your child does not have a DNR customer ID number, you must register for an ID at gowild.wi.gov. There are only 17 spots remaining, so we will take DNR numbers on an FCFS basis. Students in the class will go through the hunter safety booklet before the class starts. Class participants will then review the items in the book during the first three days with hands-on experience and then take a written test and a field test on the fourth day. The cost for the class is $10. This is set by the DNR, not by St. John's. Cash only due on or before the first day of class. If you have any questions, contact Ryan Jaeger at ryan.jaeger@sjtworivers.or or 920-793-5001.
