| | MLHS Call Update Both gentlemen who were issued called on August 23 are both still prayerfully considering. Pastor Jason Hacker, currently serving at Grace in Waukesha, was called to serve as the President of Manitowoc Lutheran High School. Pastor Steven Bode, currently serving at Zion (Allenton, WI), was called to serve as a Theology instructor. As always, we ask that you keep these men and their families in your prayers as they consider where best to serve. |

| | | Fastbridge Testing Approaching- What is it? All MLHS freshmen and sophomores will be taking the Fastbridge assessment this year for reading and math. This benchmark assessment is taken three times per year in the fall, spring, and summer. Fastbridge serves as a universal screener, a progress monitoring tool, and provides targeted interventions for students who need them. There are several benefits in utilizing this assessment tool at MLHS. The first is simply to look for growth in reading and math as well as to what extent that growth is occurring. Fastbridge also serves as a universal screener. As a screening tool, we are able to identify specific areas of student need and provide targeted learning interventions to fill those gaps in learning. Finally, the progress monitoring portion of Fastbridge allows us to track whether or not the intervention is working, and growth is taking place. Our first round of Fastbridge assessments for reading and math will take place the week of September 11th. These assessments are completed during different class periods during the school day. If you have any questions on Fastbridge, please contact Mr. Corey Marohn. |

| | School Picture Days- Clarification Student yearbook photos and senior headshots will be taken during the week of September 18, during homeroom time. Parents and guardians, please encourage the students to dress their best! School dress code must be followed. Gentlemen are strongly encouraged to wear a shirt and tie for the picture. This year's seniors will have an alternate headshot taken at school. These photos will be used for the yearbook, only if requested by the student. The purpose of these photos are for all MLHS promotional pieces throughout the year, including but not limited to social media. This makes it much easier for us to distribute and use photos we own the rights. Seniors are still able and encouraged to submit their senior pictures they had taken by any photographer for the yearbook to Mrs. Kock at kkock@mlhslancers.org. | | | | Lambeau Field & Resch Center Did you know that over the last seventeen years the Friends of the Lancers have been graciously willing to donate their time at both Lambeau Field and the Resch Center in Green Bay? The volunteers primarily work in food and beverage concessions at Packers games and concerts, like Paul McCartney, Kenny Chesney, and more at Lambeau. At the Resch Center workers have volunteered for Blizzard games (indoor football), Gamblers games (hockey), dozens of concerts featuring Morgan Wallen, Old Dominion, and comedy group The Impractical Jokers. If you are a parent, student (over 16), alumni, or friend of MLHS and are looking for a way to give to the school without spending a dime, this is a great chance to do so with brothers and sisters in Christ. Let's take a moment to recognize and thank all who have selflessly volunteered their time to help F.O.L. donate over $100,000 directly to the MLHS athletic department through these opportunities. If you are available to help even just one time, want to be a regular, or just simply want to learn more, please contact Jon Schwalbe by at futurus429@gmail.com. |
