Stand Firm-

Because Jesus Still Lives

This week in chapel we will be led by MLHS Campus Pastor, Rik Krahn. Pastor Krahn's text this week comes to us from 1 Peter 1:3-9:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, into an inheritance that is undying, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. Through faith you are being protected by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed at the end of time.
Because of this you rejoice very much, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various kinds of trials so that the proven character of your faith—which is more valuable than gold, which passes away even though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not see him now, yet by believing in him, you are filled with a joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

In sports, a team can claim to be a champion until someone replaces them. They are the "reigning" champion. With Jesus, he's the "reigning" champion forever! Watch us live each day of the week, except Wednesday, as we are live on Instagram @mlhslancers, or on Livestream

Yearbooks 2021/22

Care to relive 2021/22? Yearbooks have arrived and they are awesome! Thanks to all who put in the hours of work to make this possible.

Students who ordered a yearbook, they will be in homerooms the first day of school. Graduates from the class of 2022, who have a sibling at school, those yearbooks will be with the sibling's homeroom teacher unless you set another plan up with Mrs. Kock. If you do not have a sibling still here at MLHS you can pick it up in the main office, or email Mrs. Kock to set up a time to pick it up.

MLHS Cross Country Season Preview

Head Coach Abbey Bubolz states her prediction for the year is "too early to predict at this time since the team has many new athletes this year.  Typically our goal would be to either better last year's finish or be in the top half of the conference at a minimum."

The boy's team returns 2 seniors that are 4-year runners.  Seth Ciha ran on the 2020 state team and Jonah Melso was an alternate that year as sophomores.  Current sophomore Jacob Kanzenbach as a freshman last year holds the 2nd fastest freshman time in school history.  "We return some experienced boys that have competed at high level meets (sectionals/state) while also adding in quite a few new underclassmen that are eager to compete"

On the girl's team, sophomore Trisha Kiss was an all-conference honorable mention last year as a freshman.  Trisha is 5th on the 5k school record list and sophomore! Senior Isabella Blauert is 15th. "The girls have a strong history of creating a team culture and atmosphere with traditions they've carried over many years which makes the sometimes daunting task of running long distances enjoyable for the whole team."

Bubolz is assisted by Joel Barthel and Nate King.  They encourage all Lancer fans to attend the meets and support the runners.  The Sevastopol Invite was added to this year's schedule which replaces the Reedsville Invite on 9/29.  The first competition is set for this Thursday, 8/25 at Two Rivers.  The schedule features 2 Manitowoc meets.  The Roncalli Invite will be held at Lincoln Park on Saturday, 9/10.  10/22 is our HOME meet where we host the sectionals at Meadow Links Golf Course.  Many other meets are held within 30 minutes of Manitowoc.  Come see what it is about and experience the atmosphere!

To follow the team, check out the Manitowoc Cross Country Facebook page for the local weekly honor roll for all 8 Manitowoc County schools.  Results can also be viewed on websites such as www.athletic.net, www.milesplit.com and www.pttiming.com.

Lancer Football Loses on Final Play vs Roncalli

The Lancer varsity football team held a 12-8 halftime lead, but allowed Roncalli to score in the final seconds of the game to hand the Lancer's an opening night loss by the score of 26-20.

Defensively the Lancers gave up 123 yard passing and 274 rushing yards.  Leading the way was senior Caleb Uhlhorn with 12 total tackles.  (8 solo tackles and 4 assists).  Junior Kaeden Storzer had 11 total tackles including one tackle for a loss.(7 solo and 4 assists).
