| | MLHS MISSION TRIP RECAP Our Utah Mission Trip was a success! It was the second year we have taken our students to Utah. This time we exclusively worked with our fellow WELS congregation in Salt Lake City: Prince of Peace. Our main task was to help with their 50th Anniversary Celebration - a Neighborhood Block Party with an outdoor movie to follow. This community outreach event hoped to re-introduce the church to those who live nearby in a fun and relaxed setting. It created a fresh interaction with all those that attended. We want to thank all those that supported our Colectivo Coffee Fundraiser and prayed for our safe travels. We also send a huge thank-you to everyone at Prince of Peace for their overwhelming hospitality and generosity! |  | | MLHS INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM UPDATE Did you know MLHS will have 15 international students this coming school year?! That’s right, Host Families are still needed for the 2022-2023 school year. These students are coming from China, Germany, Spain, and Thailand. This is one-way MLHS carries out its mission in God’s Kingdom. We have an international mission field right here in our own backyard! In order to carry out this mission, it is important to have host families who are willing to love, care for, and share their faith with these international students. The international students’ families value the experience their children have in your homes and provide a substantial stipend to offset the costs of the experience with you. |  | | THEOLOGY CALL UPDATE Pastor Nate Scharf has informed the federation that he has returned our call to serve in the theology department. We pray for Pastor Scharf, his family, and his ministry as he continues to serve at St. Paul's in New Ulm, MN. At this time it is not determined when and if another call will be placed to fill the vacancy to teach theology at MLHS. We ask that you continue to pray for the ministry of your high school. |
| | Home Visits for Incoming Freshman and Any NEW students to MLHS The MLHS Advisors for the 2022-2023 School Year have their lists of advisees and would like to set up home visits for any NEW students to MLHS. The visits need to take place between mid-June and July 27th. So if you have a student that is a freshman or has transferred this year to MLHS, you can expect a call from your student's advisor to schedule a home visit with you. They will work around your schedule and look forward to meeting you! Please have your computer ready at the time of the visit, and they will be requesting a photo of your student as well so the office can produce their student id and have it ready by the first day of school. | Big News: The MATCH is STILL ON! The MLHS building project continues to move forward and the board of control continues to consider how best to proceed in light of the current increase in costs. We are thankful that the $600,000 matching gift has been extended, which means that any new pledge or donation will be matched up to that amount. To this date, $395,025 has been matched. A groundbreaking date is still to be determined. Class of 2026 (incoming freshmen) please come with your parents between 6pm and 8pm. On this day students get their class schedule, locker assignments, laptop and more. |
