| | All-School Assembly On Wednesday April 27 Lieutenant Jeremy Wagner from the Manitowoc Fire Department presented to our entire school on the dangers of drinking and driving, and that each decision we make can have life altering consequences. After the presentation the students had the opportunity to view a car from an accident that happened here in town in 2013, when Christopher Mark and Zachary Gates lost their lives. A drunk driver hit their car on 9th street driving 90 mph. It serves as a harsh reminder of the consequences of operating while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. |

| | Scholarships and State Bound! Thursday April 28 several students competed in the Green Bay district business competition. Senior Cameron Strutz and Freshman Kamden Baye both won $1,000 scholarships. Seniors Parker Vogt and Casey Stanzel won $500 scholarships by finishing in first and second place, respectively, and both move on to the state competition hosted in Sheboygan. God's blessings as you move on to state! |

| | Mission Trip Selling Coffee Our Utah Mission Trip members will be helping out two of our fellow WELS Congregations in Utah - Prince of Peace, Salt Lake City and Good News, Lehi. Our students will assist the churches with community events, canvassing efforts, and church services. Support their mission of spreading the gospel to the souls of God's beloved people in Utah! To help defer some of the cost to travel the students are selling delicious Colectivo coffee. |

| |  | Student Council is sponsoring their 2nd annual Arbor Day during the first week of May. It is currently scheduled for Wednesday May 4th but can move to any other day that week depending on the weather. Like last year, students will get the opportunity to enjoy God’s creation as they clean up around school, teachers’ homes, and the community. Freshmen will be working on projects outside school helping beautify the campus. Sophomores and Seniors will be travelling to Lakefront Park to clean up the beach. Juniors will be split into groups and traveling to different teachers homes to work on a variety of projects for teacher’s and neighbors. The day will begin at 8am with chapel. Students will then work from 8:30-11:30 and then come back to campus for lunch. Students can purchase hot lunch or bring a lunch from home. After lunch, students will enjoy games, activities, fellowship, and a kickball tournament with the day ending at 2:30. Parents of Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors should fill out this waiver form to allow students to get to their various destinations. |

| Big News: The MATCH is STILL ON! The MLHS building project continues to move forward with plans to break ground this summer. The board of control will approve a plan for what gets done afterwards based on funding, cost of the particular stages of the project, and an approved line of credit. The goal is to see the project through to its completion while also being good stewards of the resources we’ve been given by God’s people. | | Marketing Class - Online Store! Looking for a new way to support students MLHS and the Capital Campaign at the same time? In a new ‘Marketing in the Digital Era’ class this semester, a group of Juniors and Seniors, with the guidance and supervision of Mr. Gurgel, has created an online store with various Lancer apparel and items available for purchase. In this class, students read in an online textbook and use strategies they learn to help improve their shop to drive in more customers.
