Chapel This week...

Holy Week

Leading us in Chapel this Holy Week is Mr. Corey Marohn. The portions of scripture considered this week are Matthew 21:28-32 and John 13:3-17. Remember that we livestream chapel each day except on Wednesday when our students have devotion in their homerooms. You can view chapel on Livestream by clicking here

Pastor Ben Pederson

Pastor Pederson is still prayerfully considering his call to serve MLHS' Theology department. He currently serves in Coon Rapids MN as Pastor and is filling in this year as grade school principal as well. Please continue keep him and his family in your prayers.

Mr. Scott Loberger

Last week Mr. Scott Loberger received a call from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fon Du Lac, WI. The call is to serve as the head of the math department, teach math, and coach basketball. Please keep Scott and his family in your prayers as he considers where to serve.

Shining Through Christ Has Been Busy!

On Saturday morning, March 25th, some students part of Shining Through Christ braved the snow and showed up at the Manitowoc Community Garden to plant some of the first spring seeds for Grow It Forward. Grow It Forward is nonprofit based in Manitowoc that seeks to grow healthy food and provide people in need with dignified access to that food. They also seek to give people in the community opportunities to learn about, grow, cook, share, and advocate for their own food.

These students part of Shining Through Christ were able to plant hundreds of different seeds—peas, carrots, kale, peppers, cucumbers, onions, etc.—that will hopefully grow in the greenhouse over the next few months and then be transplanted into the community garden. Eventually, these fruits and vegetables will hopefully be harvested this summer and given to those in need.

We thank Grow It Forward for giving our students the opportunity to serve & for teaching us a bit about gardening and their mission as well.

More Pictures from the day available here.

On Saturday morning, April 1st, 17 MLHS students who are part of Shining Through Christ volunteered their time to serve at Repeat Performance—our high school's local resale shop. All of the volunteer hours and proceeds from Repeat Performance directly benefit Manitowoc Lutheran High School.

The students part of Shining Through Christ were able to help out in a number of ways—folding clothes, sorting through donations, pricing items, fixing toys, washing windows, and bagging customer items!

We thank all of the volunteers at Repeat Performance that worked closely with our students & for all of the volunteers at the store that regularly give their time. Since its beginning, Repeat Performance has raised over $2.5 million dollars for tuition assistance at Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
