Big News:  We have a March Match!

We have recently been given gifts of $600,000 to use towards a matching grant funds drive for the campaign! What a blessing! For the next 4 to 5 weeks, we will be looking to match those funds. Reaching that goal will bring us 1.2 million dollars closer to our capital campaign ministry project. All new donations or pledges to the project will be counted towards this match. With our groundbreaking goal looming near, now is the time to see this project through. This addition will expand MLHS's ministry of spreading the gospel to as many members of the community and around the world as we can. As always, thank you Lancer Family for your support. We could never do it without you!

Faith Focus Day Inspires Students

MLHS hosted its second annual Focus Day on Wednesday, February 23. This is a day set aside for students and teachers to take a break from their regular classes to focus on a specific topic that is timely and relevant to our school family. This year, the topic was: "Living & Sharing My Faith.”

The day was planned in response to a survey that was sent to our students earlier in the school year. The most popular responses among our students were questions like: "How do I share my faith? What exactly does that look like?" Instead of limiting that topic to just one chapel, we decided to devote an entire day.

We began with worship in the gym led by President Norv Kock. It was followed by a keynote address given by Pastor Phil Huebner of Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Pastor Huebner shared clear, practical examples of how high school students can currently share their faith in many situations through their actions and relationships with others.

Following the keynote, eight additional guest speakers from various walks of life also came to MLHS: an attorney, a stay-at-home mom, a financial advisor, a therapist, an electrician, a photographer, a seminary student, and a military veteran. Students then had the choice of picking 3 of those guest speakers to hear about how they currently live & share their faith in their vocation.

The day wrapped up with a few closing remarks in the gym and some thought-provoking questions: “So, what now?” God has given us many wonderful opportunities to live and share our faith—and we learned on this day that there are many ways to do that!

MLHS Call Update

The MLHS Federation issued a call to Pastor Benjamin Radtke to serve in the theology department.  He currently serves at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, SD.  He is married with two children.  Pastor Radtke is a 2007 graduate from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and has been serving where he is since then. Keturah Hochmuth accepted our one-year call as “Student Resource Coordinator.”  We thank the Lord of the Church for this decision!

In this class, students read in an online textbook and use strategies they learn to help improve their shop to drive in more customers. Every student has come up with their own product to design and sell in the shop. All profits made will be donated to the Capital Campaign fund. Please check out our shop at lancerlounge.com!

Senior Ads for the 2021-2022 Yearbook: The Excalibur

This year has been busy and productive! Because pages are so precious, the yearbook staff has set aside six pages for senior ads. They are available at a first come, first served basis. Unfortunately, when the pages are gone – they are gone. Last year, six pages were used without the yearbook staff really knowing how many pages we would need, so we are hoping that will be enough for this year. (Update - there are only 1 page left to fill; so don't wait!!) Email the photos and sentiment you would like to Mrs. Kock and the cost will be added to your TADS. kkock@mlhslancers.org

Page prices: ½ page: $60 ¼ page: $40 ⅛ page: $20
