Are You Complacent?

When you've always had something, you don't know what it's like to be without it. Most of us have had Jesus in our lives for our whole lives. There is a strong temptation for us to become complacent. This week we see the danger of that, yet the promises of God, true for even those who have been complacent. Join us for chapel via livestream on Tuesday (10:06am) and Thursday(10:18am) where we will hear a lesson from Israel from the text 1 Corinthians 10:1-6 and 2 Timothy 1:4-5.

Big News:  We have a March Match!
Thanks to some generous donations, a matching gift of $600,000 has been provided to the campaign!  Any new pledge or donation during the month of March will be matched by this gift. That means the Lancer Family can offset the cost of our construction by $1.2 million!  Help spread the word regarding this wonderful opportunity! Thank you to all who have participated in the campaign to this point! We are approaching the $5 million mark, with about $3 million coming in since last July!  Thanks be to God for this tremendous blessing! We remain committed to beginning the project this summer, doing what we can with the resources (financial and otherwise) available. Now is the time to get started! Let us continue to serve our school families—those of today and those of the future—with a ministry that is “Building Our Future On Christ.”

So far we have $79,150 that came in that will be matched! Thank you!!!

MLHS Call Update

The MLHS Federation issued a call to Pastor Benjamin Radtke to serve in the theology department.  He currently serves at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, SD.  He is married with two children.  Pastor Radtke is a 2007 graduate from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and has been serving where he is since then. Keturah Hochmuth accepted our one-year call as “Student Resource Coordinator.”  We thank the Lord of the Church for this decision!

MLHS' Joel Barthel and Dave Uhlhorn received calls this past weekend. Mr. Barthel's call is to Illinois Lutheran to teach Chemistry and Physics. Mr. Uhlhorn's call is to Michigan Lutheran Seminary to be the vice president. Thank you for keeping MLHS in your prayers. Feel free to reach out to Dave and Joel. Thank you.

Student Resource and Incentive day

Friday, March 25th we are running our Student Resource and Incentive day. We did one of these in November last semester with great success. We will run an early release schedule that day. Students are dismissed at 12:34 unless…..

  • They have any missing work
  • They are ineligible due to academics
  • They have an F in any course
  • They are referred by a teacher

Any students who fall under the 4 criteria listed are required to stay at school until 3pm that day. The two exceptions will be students with missing work and students referred by a teacher. Once all missing work is finished or their teacher is done working with them and they don’t fall under the other criteria are allowed to leave earlier than 3pm.

The intent of the day is to help those who are behind to catch up and to offer help to students who may need it. Lunch will be provided that day and students will be told if they need to stay prior to that Friday. Students who leave early without permission from administration or skip the day will result in discipline, which may include a suspension. If there are questions, feel free to contact Mr. Uhlhorn at duhlhorn@mlhslancers.org.

Senior Ads for the 2021-2022 Yearbook: The Excalibur

This year has been busy and productive! Because pages are so precious, the yearbook staff has set aside six pages for senior ads. They are available at a first come, first served basis. Unfortunately, when the pages are gone – they are gone. Last year, six pages were used without the yearbook staff really knowing how many pages we would need, so we are hoping that will be enough for this year. (Update - there is only 3/4's of a page left to fill; so don't wait!!) Email the photos and sentiment you would like to Mrs. Kock and the cost will be added to your TADS. kkock@mlhslancers.org

Page prices: ½ page: $60 ¼ page: $40 ⅛ page: $20

Marketing Class - Online Store!

Looking for a new way to support students MLHS and the Capital Campaign at the same time? In a new ‘Marketing in the Digital Era’ class this semester, a group of Juniors and Seniors, with the guidance and supervision of Mr. Gurgel, has created an online store with various Lancer apparel and items available for purchase. In this class, students read in an online textbook and use strategies they learn to help improve their shop to drive in more customers. Every student has come up with their own product to design and sell in the shop. All profits made will be donated to the Capital Campaign fund. Please check out our shop at lancerlounge.com!

Join FOL at the Resch Center

Several members of the Friends of the Lancers have just completed a very successful  season of concessions for home Packer games. The funds raised go toward the school Wish List in May. Much of that goes toward the various team uniforms. Let’s keep OUR  teams looking good!

We have been asked to get involved with concessions at the Resch Center. Somewhat similar to Packer games, but less hours required. Four to six hours per event, and should be done by 10PM depending on overtime, etc. This is for a variety of events such as indoor football, hockey, concerts, comedy shows,  and some WIAA events.

If anyone is interested in volunteering to help MLHS, here is a great opportunity!  To minimize parking problems, we carpool together and then we arrive at the same time and that makes registering easy. There is a list of 16 events for March and about that many for April. We can choose which dates we would like to attend. Let me know if you would like more information and I can email it to you. (too large for this article) We have a group already signed up for March 19 Eric Church concert. Don’t be left behind ! Call me, Jon Schwalbe at 920-758-2730 and feel free to leave a message.
