ACT Prep Sessions for Juniors

Juniors will be taking the ACT test on March 14th at Manitowoc Lutheran High School. To help prepare for this important test, MLHS will be offering 3 ACT test prep sessions.

The dates and times are as follows:

~~Saturday, February 18, 2023- Science (Room 109) 9:00am - 11:00am~~

~~Saturday, February, 25, 2023- English (Room 205) 9:00am - 11:00am~~

Saturday, March 4, 2023- Math (Room 213) 9:00am - 11:00am

All juniors taking the ACT should strongly consider attending these three sessions. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Sign up sheets will be posted outside of each classroom as the dates get closer. Please make arrangements to ask off of work for these mornings.

WELS Band Fest

We are proud to announce the six students who will be representing MLHS at the WELS Band Fest at Luther High School in Onalaska, WI. March 17-19, 2023. 'THE MIGHTY WARRIOR WHO SAVES'. Charlie Manzano, Logan Brooks, Lillian Ruddat, Ricky Li, Joseph Ungemach, Bowen Gaedtke

Congratulations to our business contestants: Richard Wang , Scott Schultz, Caleb Uhlhorn,and Bridget Peroutka! Today they competed in the finance and investment challenge bowl at the lakeshore regional tournament. They went undefeated, winning the championship and will now compete for State in Madison on May 17th. Way to go!

Full name: Janessa Louise Brock

Hometown: Happy Valley, California

High School: Luther Preparatory School

Major: D ouble major in Elementary Education and Communication Arts and Literature (Secondary English.)

Things you were involved with High School: Journalism , tennis, track, tutor, RA (Residents Assistant)

Why did you choose MLC? I have always wanted to be a teacher, but I wanted a place where I could communicate freely about my faith.

Have you been a part of any clubs/groups/sports at MLC? I would help with Jesus Cares and was a part of Anchor Club. I also was a Direct Support Professional for people of all ages with special needs.

What is your Dream Call? Teaching English- anywhere is fine, but preferably somewhere warm!

What are your hobbies/interests? I love to meet new people and have interesting, genuine conversations. I also love thrifting, traveling, and iced coffee.

What is your favorite Bible passage? Luke 17:20b-21- "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

What are you most excited about student teaching at MLHS? I am really looking forward to working with older students through the books we will be reading, but also talking to them about Jesus and how we can show his love through everything we do- even while reading.
