Learn Your Lancers!

November is here, most of the leaves have fallen off the trees in Manitowoc, but the colors were beautiful while they lasted, just another reminder of the beauty of the Lord's creation!

This week in chapel we will be led by Mr. Joel Ungemach, for those who have been following along on our social media accounts Joel was the latest Lancer Spotlight. Joel is the MLHS Fine Arts Director, Lancer Singer Director, the courses he is teaching this year are; Concert Choir, General Music, Our Lutheran Heritage, Lutheran Worship, Music and the Arts, and Music Technology.

In Chapel this week our theme is Who Am I? I Am a Sinner and a Saint. Tune in this week to Livesteam  to join us for chapel from anywhere in the world!

MLHS Call Report

As is true throughout the Wisconsin Synod, a fair amount of call activity is happening at MLHS as well. God be praised as he equips his church to do his work. Here’s how that applies specifically to the ministry here at MLHS:

Pastor Kock declined his call to go full-time into teaching at MLHS. He will remain as president for the time being and will be giving thought to how his own personal ministry will play out in the near future. A new call for the theology teacher position will be issued on November 12th

Kevin Buch has been called to serve as Director of Mission Advancement. This is the position that we called for after Scott Reinhard passed away. It was filled for a while by Mr. Ryan Hulse. It became vacant last school year when Ryan felt the deep need to return to a ministry that connected him with students. The main purpose of this position is to work with donors that support the ongoing ministry of MLHS. Kevin currently serves as our technology director, and formerly served as our admissions director.

Martin Plocher has been called to serve as the campaign director for the current project that has been underway for some time, a position that he has really been filling part-time this current year. It is a one-year call that is renewable and reflects the great impact that the campaign and project has on our ministry.

Jeff Dolan recently received a call to serve as a social studies teacher and coach at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, which is located in New Ulm, MN.

Please keep all these gentlemen and their families in your prayers. Thank you so much for doing that, and for your support of our ministry here.  It’s all about Jesus, and he is all about us!

WELS Regional Choral Festival

The Lancer Singers experienced a wonderful weekend of music and Christian fellowship at this past weekend’s WELS Regional Choral Festival held at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee.  It is truly difficult to summarize a weekend filled with so many blessings.  Highlights included… the Lancer Singers leading off the Pops Concert on Friday night and setting the tone for the evening…our faith being built up and our voices and musical knowledge growing in all of our rehearsals on Friday and Saturday under the direction of Mr. Levi Nagel and Mrs. Kate Tiefel…a tremendous experience of singing with 300+ high school voices at the Sunday Sacred Concert.

You can still watch the archived recording of the concerts by clicking on the links below:

MLHS Basketball Help Needed

Please sign up to volunteer for concessions and ticket table for the Girls and Boys basketball season.

This is a great opportunity for all, no matter what sport your child plays.

All parents are asked to volunteer throughout the year for a minimum of 2 slots for each sport their child is involved in.

There are a few nights where both girls and boys play on the same night.

If your athlete has a home game that night, please consider signing up as the away game parents will not be able to help cover shifts.
