  • What to Bring: Barton Level 3 Materials

LLS August Professional Development Days: August 5-8

Our professional development days are scheduled for the week of August 5th. We will alternate each year between June and August because of the Northern Wisconsin District Convention taking place on alternate years. Some basic information on these 4 days follows:

Monday, August 5th- Sadlier Math Professional Development (Virtual) 9:00am

  • Audience: Those using Sadlier Math now or in the future. 

Tuesday, August 6th- Early Childhood Professional Development Morning

  • Topic: Child Portfolios- Using Authentic Observation to Document Children's Development (9am - 11am)
  • A light breakfast will be served starting at 8:30am
  • Creative Curriculum & High Scope Discussion- LLS early childhood curriculum study discussion after PD for those interested in learning more. (11am - 11:30am)
  • Audience: Early Childhood directors, teachers, and staff

Wednesday, August 7th- Telling the Next Generation (8:30am – 2:00pm)

  • Utilizing our early childhood centers and schools for outreach. 
  • Lunch and snacks will be provided.
  • Audience: principals, EC directors, teachers, pastors, evangelism chairmen, church members, support staff, and anyone interested in attending

Thursday, August 8th- FastBridge Interventions & Progress Monitoring (Tentative)

  • Our next SPED Team meeting is coming up in April. More info will come on this session in the near future. 
  • Audience: Learning Coordinators/SPED Directors, reading and math interventionists, classroom teachers

 LLS Early Childhood Professional Development Morning

  • When: Saturday, April 20th 9:00 – 11:00am
  • Location: Manitowoc Lutheran High School (Room 101)
  • Topic: Large Muscle & Creative Movement Activities: What Can you do when the weather is not cooperating and the children are climbing the walls? Ideas will be presented for active game sand activities that will burn energy for both teacher and children! This is an active class so dress for comfort!
  • A light breakfast will be served starting at 8:30am.
  • Opportunities to learn more about The Creative Curriculum Program from Teaching Strategies will be briefly discussed at 11am for those interested in learning more.

 

   Fastbridge Testing Windows

  • Spring Testing Window- Marth 4th through June 7th
  • Summer Testing Window- June 10th – ??? (10 weeks)

 

  CESA 7 Assessment PD Opportunity

The next assessment PD days are scheduled for May 7, 8 & 9. The topic is Assessing writing across classrooms, grade levels, and content areas. Please contact Corey Marohn if you would like to attend.

Admissions/Recruitment

WPCP (Wisconsin Parental Choice Program) NOW OPEN until April 18th.

Families that are currently in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program will need to re-enroll and those who would like to begin 9th grade year are encouraged to fill out an application. Email Dave Uhlhorn duhlhorn@mlhslancers.org or Holly Zirbel  hzirbel@mlhslancers.org with questions.

Fine Arts Update

Lakeshore Lutheran Music Festival: The festival will be held on Friday, April 12th.  Information is being coordinated by Mr. Holper and sent out to principals and fine arts contacts.  If you have any questions, please contact Joel Ungemach at your convenience.

Jr. Lancer Band & MLHS Symphonic Band Concert: will be held on Sunday, April 21st in the MLHS gymnasium.  This concert is always very unique as it features all of our band students from 5th grade through Senior.  It’s a great opportunity to support your current students in Beginner Band & Concert Winds while also supporting those graduates that are now part of the MLHS Symphonic Band.

Part-time Afternoon Preschool Assistant Position Available: Jesus‘ Lambs of Grace (2426 N. Rapids Rd., Manitowoc)  is looking for one or more people willing and able to assist with the care of children during the afternoon hours of 1:00-5:30pm Monday through Friday. This shift could be split if we have more than one person interested. If you, or someone you know, over the age of 18, loves working with kids, has one or more afternoons available, and would like a flexible part-time job, please contact the preschool at 920-482-0001 and ask for Peg Janke.

MLHS Custodian

​POSITION CATEGORY:  Regular, full-time hourly

SCHEDULE:  10am-6pm M-F

POSITION SUMMARY:  The primary objective of the Custodian position is to maintain MLHS’ facilities (physical plant) at a level that provides a positive and safe educational environment and portrays a positive image to students, parents, friends, faculty and the general public.   It is important that the HC and other custodial positions work closely with maintenance positions to make the facilities and campus operate smoothly; therefore, communication and cooperation are essential.
