Learn Your Lancers!

This week we will be led in chapel by Mr. Paul Durkee. Paul has been with here at Manitowoc Lutheran since 2014, He began his ministry at MLHS at as the Physical Education teacher, he then served as Guidance Director and Registrar for 4 years, and now serves as the MLHS Public Relations and Communications Director out of the Mission Advancement Office.

This week our chapel centers on the theme Stand Firm- Because Your Faith Equips You. Jesus assures of this and helps.  The portion of scripture we consider this week comes to us from the book of John, 16:16-33. Each week on the first day fo the week we are led in chapel by one of our Pastors here on campus either Pastor Kock or Pastor Krahn.  This week Monday Pastor Kock will get our week started, Thursday the MLHS Cantate Choir will perform, and our guest preacher on Friday will be Paster Adam Bode from St. Paul's Howards Grove.

Join us live each day of the week we have school, except Wednesday, as we are live on Livestream

Call Update

On September 22nd, the MLHS Board of Control, issued a call to Pastor Kock to serve full time in our theology department. Pastor Kock would also teach Latin 1 and 2.  If he accepts this call, the MLHS Federation would look to call a new President as soon as possible. Regardless of his decision, President Kock would continue to serve as MLHS President for the remainder of this school year. Please pray for him, his family, and MLHS during this time of deliberation. Feel free to reach out to him at nkock@mlhslancers.org. Thank you.

Homecoming 2022 was Out of This World!

Another year, another homecoming in the books. Dress up days, games, hallway decorations, late nights, and memories made.  A great big thank you to the Student Council, Mr. Gurgel, and all who put in time to make Homecoming 2022 amazing!

The week was filled with things to do from maladroit volleyball to powderpuff flag footbal. Therewas a school wide Minute to Win It and again the bonfire, as well as two volleyball games, a cross country meet and a football game! The week concluded with a dance that was like none before.

Upon entrance into the commons you set foot on the USS-MLHS, an exploration vessel looking for a good time. You would be greeted by the astronauts (9 chaperones, dressed in full spacesuit)  At approximately 7:21pm the USS-MLHS became over crowded and the escape pods were launched...all aboard were jettisoned into space...the final frontier.   The almost unrecognizable gym was outfitted with aliens, large planetary orbs floating in space, lasers, music, large screens, and lots of dancing. If dancing was not for you, there were yard games, or cards and board games in the space lounge, fully supplied with snacks and lemonade.

It truly was a great week and awesome experience for everyone. To see more pictures from the week check out the link here.

Runners Continue to Set Personal Best Times

The Lancer Cross Country team competed last week on Thursday at Mishicot, and many Lancers set new personal records (PR). During a long active week during homecoming week Coach Abbey Bubolz' talked a lot about maintaining focus through the week, and the athletes did just that!

Boys Varsity finished 3rd at Mishicot. Jacob Kanzenback led the lancers with a new PR of 17:46, placing 8th. with this time Jacob is now the 3rd best time for Sophomore boys in school history, and 17th all time on the boys all time list. Keep up the good work Jacob! Jonah Melso (16th) and Seth Ciha (17th) also set PRs with times of 18:27 and 18:28 respectively. The Boys JV team also finished in 3rd place and Ricky Li set a new PR of 23:31! Girls Varsity finished in 11th place, while Senior Maddie Sveom set a new PR of 27:23! Many of our runners set new season bests this week as well, this is truly a testament to all the hard work they are putting in.

The next meet on the schedule for the Lancers is in Sturgeon Bay, hosted by Sevastopol HS at Cherry Hills Golf Course. Results will be at www.xmtiming.com. Come Cheer on our Lancers!

Lancers Dominate Homecoming Game!

It was a beautiful fall night for a football game on Friday. The stands were packed with fans and the scoring started early for both teams battling to a 14-14 tie after the first quarter, but from there it was all Lancers. The Lancers were able to put together a game that saw long touchdowns, turnovers, and lots of excitement.

Lancer Quarterback Brayden Bennet was 10 for 12 for 122 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception, Bennet also rushed for a touchdown. Leading the Lancers in rushing was Kamden Bay who eclipsed the 100 yard mark going for 128 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown. Caleb Uhlhorn and Kaeden Storzer also rushed for touchdowns in the victory. The leading receivers for the Lancers were Caden Stanzel who caught 3 passed for 57 yard and a touchdown, and Kaden Hagenow who also caught 3 passes for 32 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively the Lancers were strong after the first quarter when they were able to get pressure on the Ozaukee quarterback and slow down their run game. The lancers scored a defensive touchdown when Brayden Zirbel caused a fumble and returned it for a touchdown. Zirbel added 7 tackles on the day trailing only Caleb Uhlhorn with 10 tackles, Kaden Storzer again among the tackle leaders with 7.

This week the Lancers travel to Random Lake to take on the Rams at 7:00pm at Random Lake high school.

Lancer Volleyball Improves to 2-2 in Conference After Great Week!

On Tuesday the Lancer Volleyball team traveled to Elkhart Lake and came away victorious! Taking 3 games to 1. On Thursday for our homecoming volleyball matchup the Lancers hosted the Oostburg Flying Dutchmen. In a great team effort the Lancers played strong and took the first two games, and falling the third, only to come back and dominate game 4. Following the game the Homecoming bonfire was held, it was a great night to be a Lancer!
