June 2022

Greetings MLHS Alumni,

I pray this message finds you enjoying the early part of the summer season. For most, summer is a wonderful time to “re-charge” a bit and maybe get some projects done around the house that have been ignored over the last several months. Summer is a great time for vacations, trips to the beach, and some extended family time. A chance to escape the crazy school year schedules. At the same time, we don’t want to forget to “re-charge” our spiritual battery as well. This might be a perfect time to find that new Bible study to start, or find a few quiet minutes during the day to devote to God’s word. Our Lord encourages us to stay and grow in his word, when we are able to do that we are reminded on a regular basis of the love He has for us and the salvation He won for us through Jesus.

I also ask for your prayers as I begin my move from the Mission Advancement Office to guidance. I am excited to be able to work daily and directly with our students here at MLHS. It became clear during the school year that my greatest strengths and passion are in the classroom, hallways, and in the relationships with the students. Mr. Paul Durkee will be taking over the alumni relations part of Mission Advancement. You will be now receiving information from him beginning in July. Please pray for Mr. Durkee as he begins to use his talents, gifts, and abilities to serve his ministry in that role.

It has been a pleasure sharing the ministry with all of you and I look forward to our continued partnership as we support our students in as many ways as we can.

Blessings,

Ryan Hulse

Big News: The MATCH is STILL ON!

The MLHS building project continues to move forward and the board of control continues to consider how best to proceed in light of the current increase in costs. We are thankful that the $600,000 matching gift has been extended, which means that any new pledge or donation will be matched up to that amount. To this date, $395,025 has been matched. A groundbreaking date is still to be determined. Please pray for blessings on this campaign and on the ministry of MLHS, which is centered on our risen and victorious Savior!

Graduation

On Saturday, May 28th, we had the privilege of handing diplomas to 59 graduating seniors.  We wish them God's Blessings on their future and they will forever be a part of the Lancer Family!

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Deuteronomy 31:8

Lancer Girls Finish Strong at State Track

The three Lancer senior girls who competed at the WIAA Div. 3 State Track and Field meet on June 3rd & 4th,  excelled in their events, as the Lancers captured a state championship in the shot put and podium finishes in triple jump and the 3200m run.

MonRaye Ermis became just the third Lancer to win a state track and field championship in the WIAA era, throwing the shot put 39' 1.25" to take the gold medal.  It was the second time Ermis threw over 39' this season and was just 2.25" under her school record throw, which she set at the sectional meet the week before.

Brooklyn Luebke ran in the 3200m run on Friday and the 1600m on Saturday and earned a spot on the awards podium Friday with an 11:21.75 in the 3200m, capturing 4th place. That time broke her previous school record, set just the week before at the sectional meet, by over 22 seconds.

Emily Marohn competed in three events at state, highlighted by her 3rd place finish in the girls triple jump on Saturday, where she jumped 36' 10.75", a new school record. Marohn jumped well from the get-go, getting a new PR with her first jump of 36' 2.75".

These three seniors all end their Lancer track and field careers with school records and state medals. Way to go girls!

Please join us on Monday, July 25th as we head to the beautiful Quit Qui Oc Golf Club in Elkhart Lake for the 30th Annual Lancer Golf Classic! Enjoy a game of golf, fellowship, contests, and fun! Lunch will be served on the course at holes 11 and 18.  Money raised will help offset some of the bigger wishlist items for the Athletic Department.  Helping pay for the visiting team bleachers for the football field, baseball field improvements, headsets for the football coaches and softball team jackets are just a few of the items needed!

The 30th Annual MLHS Golf Classic is Monday, July 25th. Come on out to Quit Qui Oc Golf Club and support our MLHS Athletic department.  We need help at the registration table, on the course through out the day, and check out at the end of the day.

We need the help of wonderful volunteers like yourself to help it run smoothly!

Business sponsorship is how the MLHS Golf Classic has been able to successfully operate for 30 years. Your support allows us to pay for our facilities, food, and carts in order to make our guests and supporters feel welcome. Thank you!

We could not be successful without you.

MAIN OFFICE & SCRIP SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

During the summer, the main office will be open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9AM-1PM. SCRIP will have the same hours as the Main Office with additional time Thursday evenings from 4-6PM.

BOTH OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED THE WEEK OF JULY 4th.

Thank you for planning accordingly.
